Eastchester Rotarian Entertain GOL Woman
Rotarians Dan and Barbara Nalven have always been huge supporters of Rotary's Gift of Life program.  Dan brought the project to the Eastchester Club over thirty years ago and continues to take an interest in the Club's support of the children and their families who have come through the program. One such child was Christine Katuslime, a Ugandan who received life saving heart surgery with wonderful success. Dan promised her a trip back to the United States upon her graduation from college and encouraged our club to spend some time with her after her visit to the Nalvens on Martha's Vineyard while she was in the NY area awaiting her flight back home.  Gina Stanley opened her home in Bronxville, to Christine and showed her around New York City one day. The following day, Rich sullivan and a friend picked her up and brought her to lunch at Half Moon on the Hudson River and gave her a brief tour of our area.  The three then met up with Mary Ciamarra at Freya Gnerres's house before heading to Toscana's in Tuckahoe for an early dinner. Mary's Eastchester Trip Service whisked Christine back to JFK to catch her plane.  Everyone agreed that Christine was a delightful and fascinating young woman and we hope she will honor our request to come back some day for another visit.
